My New Obsession and How I Have Become More Productive
Keeping up with daily tasks, appointment, and random things that pop up that I need to remind myself to do is not one of my strong suits. With Elliana starting kindergarten this year I have been looking for something, for some way, that I can keep track of things better and in turn, be more productive. I don’t want to be that parent that forgets to do something.
I have tried different things to keep track and plan out my days, but nothing has stuck for more than a couple of days. Electronic calendars, those A Year In a Glance planners, and a couple others, but none of them kept me coming back or felt right.
That is until I came across this amazing planner.
The Happy Planner by Me & My Big Ideas.
It’s laid out enough to not be too intimidating, but it’s fully customizable to do and jot down what I please. I use it for my day to day tasks, meal plan, workout, bills due, and appointments. But, I also use it to remind myself of things that pop into my head to do later, to look up info, books to read, and so on. As things happen that I want to remember, I jot them down also. So, it doubles as a memory keeper, also.
Aside from the planning, I love the sense of accomplishment I get when I get to check things off my list. I don’t know why checking something off motivates me, but it does. Seeing empty boxes next to cleaning tasks drives me crazy, and I want to do the dishes to mark it off. Yeah, I might be a little crazy, but it works for me.
I’m on my second month of using the Happy Planner, that’s not a long time, but for me, that is a tremendous record. I feel so much more productive and very few things are slipping through the cracks because “I forgot.”
